The word 'sabaton' itself refers to a knight's foot armor, while their last album, The Great War, was entirely based around the events of World War I. It follows the same pattern of many of their songs that focus on battle themes and specifically heroism in war. The song 'Livgardet' was written and performed in tribute to the Swedish Army regiment, relating to its 500th anniversary as a military unit.
They wrote: "Are you ready for some new Sabaton music? Wait no more! Hear now a teaser of one of our upcoming songs." A day later, the band confirmed recording would soon be underway on their tenth studio album. Sabaton teased the release of their latest studio album for which the tour will support with a short sample of a new song, Livgardet, back in February.
